David Buckmeier is the Research Program Director of the Inland Fisheries Division of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Dave spent the first 19 of his 24 years with TPWD as a fisheries scientist conducting applied aquatic research to inform conservation and fisheries management actions. Dave is a native of North Dakota, where he got his B.S. in fish and wildlife biology at the University of North Dakota. He then moved South acquiring an M.S. in biology at Tennessee Technological University. Before coming to Texas, Dave also worked for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and at Auburn University. Dave enjoys many outdoor activities including fishing along the Texas coast.
