We are proud to give a much deserved award to Haley Daniels, the first-ever UNT LLELA intern! Haley is a University of North Texas Ecology major who began an internship in August 2021 which lasted until this May. Haley is now a graduate student! Here is a list of the adventures she did during her internship: she led a community science bioblitz project to document all life at the North McWhorter Creek area, now with 1,013 taxa documented from 97 observers, helped set up the Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) station, bird banding, created maps in ArcMap for the area, led a team to remove privet, hosted the UNT Ecology Lab for a field trip, and so much more. She presented her work at two conferences. Her iNaturalist project can be found here
