The research team conducts ongoing research in a wide array of areas related to local, regional, national and international environmentally influenced problems.
Dr. Samuel F. Atkinson, Ph.D.
Dr. Atkinson, Regents Professor of biology, is an environmental scientist with expertise in exploring environmental resources at the ecosystem scale. He serves as vice chair of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Environmental Advisory Board, which includes experts from across the U.S. appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Defense to advise on the multiple water resource issues the corps faces. He earned his B.S. in biology from Oklahoma State University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in environmental science from the University of Oklahoma’s School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science.
